General Seminar Information

Seminar Instructors
Seminar instructors for this program include internationally recognized experts, including members of the NFPA Technical Committee on Fire Investigations, its various task groups, faculty members of the Fire and Safety Engineering Technology Program, and staff members of NAFI and NFPA will present the illustrated, interactive lectures. In the event of speaker conflicts, topics or speakers may be changed.
Equipment
Participants may bring laptop computers for the fire modeling session. Safety and Investigation Equipment should also be brought as this seminar will include fire scene activities. The participant should bring suitable (warm) equipment for field work including: gloves, safety shoes or boots, and other appropriate clothing. Hard hats will be provided to each participant at registration. Additionally, the participant may bring any other equipment that they normally use when investigating fire scenes. Some safety equipment will be available for loan for those unable to bring extra equipment.
Textbooks and Course Materials
Course materials are provided as a part of the registration fee and include a 3 ring binder of instructor handouts and related materials. Participants should bring a copy of NFPA-921, current edition with them for the class.

A limited number of Explosion Investigation and Analysis, Kennedy on Explosions, NFPA-921, "The Guide for Fire and Explosion Investigations" will be available for sale for those that do not already have a copy.
Computers
If the participant has a notebook computer with a cd-rom it is advised that they bring it with them. Assistance in loading the computer fire modeling programs can be provided and you will be able to save the demonstration programs that are completed.
